Okinawa is the tiny purple blob directly the the East of the eye of the typhoon.
Yesterday, we got hit by ShanShan. It was one of those unpredictable storms that was all over the place. We didn't get a direct hit, thank goodness, but we did get a lot of heavy rain and some fierce winds. To be totally honest, I love these storms because they are such a relief from the heat that we usually have. It doesn't get cool here till about mid December, which is nice for some people but I miss my fall and winter seasons. It cooled off quite a bit and the kids and I had fun playing out in the wind before the rain came. I tried to get pictures of Emma and her hair whipping around in the wind.
