Henry's First Haircut

I gave Henry his first haircut tonight. I clipped a few pieces off the top to save in an envelope but then got out the Flo-Bee to do the rest. He did not like me messing with his hair. So funny! Here he is after a bath and all cleaned up.

Below is the before pictures.

Artwork at it's Best!

Here is the finished product from our visit at the pottery store.
Isaac's dinosaur
Emma's kitty (Marvin)

Lily's bird

Alivia peeking

Her butterfly and flower

Peepaw's butter dish (which we use)

Meemaw's tropical fish

Bunch of Turkeys

For some reason, the kids thought it would be funny to put on Isaac's tighty whities this morning.
Not to worry, they were clean, the underwear, that is.

Yikes!

Poor kid needs a haircut

Several new posts

I finally got on the ball and published many new posts. Sorry for the long delay, hopefully I can keep up with this a little better now. Enjoy!

Bogue Pier

We had to get to the beach while Meemaw and Peepaw were here, so Kris (who had to work) gave us directions to Bogue Pier in Emerald Isle. Here they are under the pier.

There were millions of shells on the beach. I've never seen so many in my life. I think it was because of the lack of visitors for several months, so we got the prime pickings. It was great!

As you can see Isaac has lost both front teeth. I worried how he might look without them, but I think he's kind of cute now.

This little girl was all over the beach. It was hard to get a good picture of her because she wouldn't stay in one spot.

Peepaw and Henry

I'm amazed that I even got all of them in one shot. They were all doing their own thing and all over that beach.

8 Scoops, Please!

After all the hard work we did painting, (see post below) we all went to an ice cream parlor for dessert. Since the price for one scoop was over $2, we decided to go for their 'Big One'. It was 8 scoops with all the toppings you wish for under $9. I know it looks a little disgusting but we probably saved $20!

They also had a cute play area for the kids.
Poor Henry, slept through the whole thing!

Our Creative Juices Flowing

While Meemaw and Peepaw were visiting, we decided to dig up some fun, so we took a trip to a little painting shop in New Bern.

Isaac and his dinosaur.

Emma with her kitty.

Meemaw painted a fish and Peepaw was painting a butter dish just for us!

Aren't they cute?!?

Just pics

Everybody climbed up with their leapsters and sat with Dad on the couch. Kris was playing PS2. I don't know how they could keep track of the noises those games were making. I just found it funny that they all were sitting together.

Henry's favorite time is bath time. Even when the other kids take baths, he's got to be right in there hoping to join in on the fun.

The kids were playing Memory. Emma is really good at it. Isaac doesn't look too happy, probably because Emma is winning.

Alivia waiting her turn.

Via dressed herself up like this and then came and showed me her outfit.

It's been a while

Uncle Joel got Isaac a model jet plane for Christmas. Him and his dad had fun putting it together.

Christmas Cookies

I decided to brave making sugar cookies again this year. Last year they were too thin, brittle, and not very good. So, I tried a different recipe and had much better results. The kids helped me make them and we had a blast.

Kris had fun patting me with flour. He put his powdery hands somewhere else but I'll spare you that embarrassing photo.

After the cookies got done baking, the kids got to decorate them. Here's Isaac trying to figure out how to work the tube of icing.

Oops...

Emma's Christmas tree and Alivia with a mouthful.

The kids busy at work and Alivia licking the sprinkles bottle.

Lily and a green mouth.

Just Plain Silliness

There is so much going on in this picture and it all started with Kris getting down on the floor to play with Henry. Everybody else had to join in on the fun, even the cat!
Isaac and Emma thought it would be funny to make faces in the pot that was on the stove.

The Floatilla

Last week, the kids and I had the privilege of hearing the band play at one of their many Christmas gigs this season. The gig was for the annual floatilla that the city of New Bern puts on. The band played for the first portion and then the 20 some boats came around with their Christmas displays.

So handsome in that uniform!

These were just some of our favorite Christmas boats. It was fun to watch them.

Our Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, we travelled to Maryland to be with my sister and her family. We had a great time, fixed lots of food, and ate like kings. We will definitely do it again!

My mom wanted a picture of all her grandkids together, but it's not easy trying to get six kids under 6 years old to sit still and smile at the same time. Hopefully Todd got a better shot.

Gracie wanted to help fix dinner. How cute!
Thanks Todd and Micah for letting us come and stay!
