New Sister

Isaac, Emmaline and Liliana got to meet their new sister just a few hours after she was born. They had had a big day also playing with some friends we've had from Virginia. They still had enough energy to fawn over the new baby. Lily kept wanting to touch her but could only muster a slap to her face. The introductions only lasted till they realized that hospitals are full of cool looking toys.




FYI....the name Irene we borrowed from Megan's Grandma Barber. Since you all know that we love classy names from yesteryear, Irene was a perfect fit. Megan's Grandpa Barber passed away last year and we wanted to honor the Barber family by using Grandma Barber's name ( obviously we couldn't use Grandpa Barber's name for a girl). We enjoy keeping names in the family. Emmaline Beth has Aunt Micah's middle name of Beth. Liliana Joy has my Grandma's first name of Joy. Isaac has my first name as his middle name. I suppose we'll do the same for all of the rest our platoon.....just kidding Memaws and Pepaws!!!!








"Alivia" was the name we made up after Alivia was born. We liked Olivia but it just didn't quite capture the way we name our children. We used a dry erase board in our room to test out some names and by some divine blessing of Gray Matter we came up with this spelling. I guess we just have to be different. After beating our heads against the wall for the last couple of weeks, it feels good to have found a name we both really love. We hope you do too.

Liliana's birthday is tomorrow. However, we'll probably pick another day this week or weekend to celebrate. So, with Memaw Barber (8th), Uncle Joel (3rd), Liliana (4th) and Alivia (3rd) we'll have to celebrate Christmas in June too.
