My kids are known occassionally to do weird things. That's fine, but it gets a little awkward explaining these things to an ER staff that's trying to fix up my kid. This past Sunday evening, Alivia was climbing on the dining room chairs, tipped one over, and she went down with it. She immediately started to cry and I picked her up and looked at her face (habit, I guess) and thought, 'Okay, no head or teeth injury so she must be fine.' All was good, but then I could feel blood dripping on my leg. I looked at her hand and there was a big gash across her first finger.
When I took her into the ER and told them the story, I know they were probably thinking, 'Yeah, right lady.' I could've told them she was a circus clown and she cut herself while practicing her juggling dagger act and they would still respond the same way. It just makes you wonder how many wacky stories they've heard.
So how did she cut her finger you ask? The only conclusion I can come up with is that she had her finger in her mouth and bit down on it when she fell. Maybe I should stick with the juggling dagger story. At least that's more interesting.

Poor baby girl. I can't believe she had to have stitches?! Give her boo-boo a kiss for me.
