Just Another Day

Today, Isaac had a well check at the peds clinic. He's growing, slowly, but he 's growing. The doctor spent a lot of time with us. Isaac had a little bit of trouble with the eye chart but I'm not sure it's anything to worry about.
We had to get more immunizations and that was an adventure. Isaac was crying even before the nurse gave him the first shot. Wow, I didn't realize I had such a momma's boy. Yikes! Any ideas on how to toughen this kid up?
Alivia had to get shots today too. She's pretty fussy now poor thing, but I did get a smile from her. I hate for my kids to get shots. So much controversy around the whole subject. It all just makes me very nervous.

Lily is finally walking full time. She's got one leg that's a little twisted and points out, but we're hoping that it will eventually go away. I don't think it bothers her because she walks on it just fine.

I got a picture of the kids playing outside. Emma does a great job at riding her tricycle now and Isaac is doing well with his bike. He figured out how to brake so I think he's a little more confidant in riding it.

Immunizations... yeah, it is pretty controversial nowadays. I think it's because when vaccines were first being made, they were using human fetal cells in some of them. Can't remember which ones they were, though. There's a ton of stuff on the internet about it. Some people seem worried about the mercury that's in some of them. Some people simply just don't like the side effects they cause (swelling, fever, restlessness, irritability, etc.). I may be wrong in saying this, but here's my take on the whole immunization thing: I'd rather go through 1-3 days of possible side effects that go hand-in-hand with immunizations than having my child contract polio, hepatitis, measles, etc. We do refuse the chicken pox vaccine because it seems silly to me. That, and we're planning on home schooling so it's not that big of a deal. I guess if my kids haven't gotten chicken pox by the time they're 5 we may look into getting them vaccinated, but in the meantime...

So, you're wanting to have more kids, eh? RD and I are wanting to have at least 5, although we're wanting to wait a little bit for #4 (house space/money concerns). Of course, God may have other plans. We'll see. How many kids do you guys want to have or does it not matter? The whole "large family" thing has always intrigued me, but I guess I'm nervous about the "unknown". Not many families are large anymore and I don't have a clue what that would look like, that is, to be a mom of a bunch of kids. What's your take?

PS- I didn't know you're from Logansport! RD and I go there at least once a week to go to Applebee's, Wal-Mart and EZ Pawn (by HAPS). We're running around on your old stomping ground. Too cool.

Yeah, Sonya has a foot turned in. Of course, I'm like, "I'm a PE teacher and I can't fix this?!" Hopefully she'll grow out of it soon enough, and it doesn't seem to slow her down all the time. Just when she's tired, she trips over it!

It is amazing how much Lily and Alivia looked alike as babies. I can't believe Lily is so big now. Miss you guys.
