Typhoon Ewiniar

We are currenlty under a typhoon warning and I don't think this one is going to turn away from us, although it is still too early to tell. We had maybe one or two typhoons last year but each of them veered away from us, so this may be our first big storm while on the island. It makes me a little nervous because well, it's a typhoon! If you click on the top picture we are listed on the map as Naha. Also, if you would like to keep updated on it you can visit these websites:

www.supertyphoon.com/ or www.npmoc.navy.mil/jtwc.html

I can't guarantee that you'll be able to view these sites due to the high volume of traffic they are receiving right now, but it's worth a try.
We're supposed to be getting the worst part of the storm this weekend.

Hey Megan! Let me just say I love your blog. All the pictures are amazing! Saw your comment on my last post. I'd love to ask my grandma about her big family, but she died in 2002. I can tell you though from watching her she loved God, her husband, and her kids with ALL her heart and was tender to everyone. Just a truly amazing woman-a saint! Talked to my brother yesterday and he didn't mention the typhoon- looks like it's gonna hit you guys this time- he'll have to move some planes!

We're sure prayin for you guys. I know that Kris has been in a hurricane, but I'm not sure about Meg. Besides, this one looks big.
Wish we had a way to help!! Guess prayer is the only thing we have here.

Just don't be like dad and think you can go outside and stand in it. He always freaked me out during storms when we'd all be in the basement praying for our lives and he was upstairs thinking it was the coolest thing ever. We'll be praying for you.

I can always count on you keeping me on my knees. I will be praying and get as many as I can to pray also. I love you all. Battin down the hatches. God has his hand in everything.

Love,

Mom

Just had to say that my comment before said I went to IWU from 1988-2003...15 years! That's not right. I was there from 1988-1993, and my husband Jim was there from 1998-2003. So you were there at the same time (partially).

Glad to hear Alivia (beautiful name BTW) is doing better. God bless.
